George Calkins / Bartender Boats
For those not familiar with the Bartender, its' design intent was a boat built to run the river bars of the Oregon coast.
The design proved so successful in the early 1960?s, it was tested and adopted for surf search and rescue by the United States Coast Guard. The Australian Harbor Patrol, police, and surf rescue service also used the Bartender.
If you like cruising, our Puget Sound and points north offer about as much challenge to this boat as a vacant K-Mart parking lot challenges your hummer!!
If you are an ocean fisherman, well that?s what this boat was designed for.

CONSTRUCTION
composite of Bruynzeel Marine Plywood, fiberglass cloth, and epoxy resin. Hull 3/8 plywood, Bottom 2 layers- 3/8 plywood, on Mahogany frames and floor timbers, 16? o/c. Frames and floor timbers sided 1? x as built
All structural members ? Mahogany i.e. Chine logs, deck beams, knees, etc.
All surfaces below water line sealed w/epoxy resin and fillits at all mating members
3-1/2 x 3-1/2? Old growth fir engine beds, spanning 8 floor timbers
Cabin trunk sides 3/8, front 3/4. Cockpit coaming 3/4? Finished bright
All rails are of 1? Stainless pipe
CABIN
Forward is a ?U? shaped settee berth area with full sitting headroom. There is also a hatch in the foredeck for ventilation and access to foredeck.
Length inside cabin from forward blkd to after blkd at entrance hatch 9? 3?. Drains from fwd chain locker to bilge.
Storage under fwd portion of berth. Storage under Port settee, cabinet over. Built in ice chest under stbd. Settee, cabinet over.
Cabinet w/counter, stainless sink and single propane bottle burner. Cabinet runs athwart ships to stbd. Of entry and porta potty to portside.
Four 14-x 6 Vetus(Holland) Port-lights, clock, counter light and thermostat in cabin.
Gimbaled lamps, port and starboard.
